Program Coordinator

Job Description

The Global Program in Pediatric Respiratory Sciences at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Program Coordinator to support the implementation of research activities, manage communications, and assist with administrative and logistical needs of the program. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in facilitating research processes, liaising with institutional and partner organizations, and advancing the mission of improving pediatric respiratory health globally.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities


Research Coordination and Compliance

  • Assist with consenting of research participants enrolled at Johns Hopkins in compliance with ethical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support local and remote data collection activities, ensuring accurate and timely documentation and organization.
  • Coordinate communications with the Johns Hopkins Institutional Review Board (IRB) and partner research organizations to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of annual reports to the IRB and study sponsors.


Program and Communication Support

  • Coordinate the Union Child Pneumonia Working Group’s communications, including drafting and distributing a monthly member email.
  • Organize and manage logistics for every-other-month advisory group meetings, including scheduling, agendas, and meeting materials.
  • Plan and oversee the logistics for scientific webinars, ensuring seamless delivery and participant engagement.


General Administrative Duties

  • Maintain detailed records and track timelines to ensure research and program deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to support program objectives.
  • Respond to inquiries related to program activities, providing high-quality communication to stakeholders.


**This part-time position requires 20 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be necessary to accommodate international collaboration or specific program events.



Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Five years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., public health, life sciences, social sciences). 
  • At least 1 year of experience in research coordination, project management, or related roles.
  • Experience with clinical or public health research, particularly in pediatric respiratory health or global health.
  • Prior experience with data collection and management systems.
  • Knowledge of international research collaboration and partnerships.

Starting Salary Range: $21.25 - $36.90 HRLY ($23,920 targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Part-time 
Schedule: M-F; 20 hours per week flexible
