Position Overview:
The Director, Kimball Instructional Site serves as the primary liaison for the Kimball Site and works collaboratively with a broad range of college divisions, community partners, and students. This dynamic role is critical in providing holistic student services, fostering engagement, growth, and a sense of belonging. The Director will oversee student services such as Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid for both Credit and TCAT students, while embodying the vision of the One College initiative. The Director will also lead efforts to strengthen the presence of Chattanooga State in Marion County and support the strategic goals of the Kimball Site.
Key Responsibilities:
Holistic Student Support
Act as the primary point of contact for students at the Kimball Site, providing comprehensive student services across Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid.
Offer guidance to both Credit and TCAT students, ensuring timely access to services, and facilitating successful enrollment, progression, and completion.
Advocate for and support student well-being, addressing challenges that may impact academic and personal success.
Promote a campus culture of belonging and engagement, where students are encouraged to participate in college resources, events, and programs.
Ensure that students have access to all necessary resources to excel academically, including tutoring, advising, and career guidance.
Teaching Excellence
Collaborate with faculty and academic staff to support instructional excellence and student success.
Consult with deans and department heads regarding academic offerings at the Kimball Site.
Support faculty development initiatives to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
Program Innovation
Drive innovation in student services by developing new programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience at the Kimball Site.
Collaborate with community partners, academic departments, and Workforce Development teams to create and promote relevant educational opportunities.
Assist in implementing new technologies, systems, and processes that streamline student services and improve operational efficiency.
Organizational Culture & Inclusive Practices
Lead efforts to provide an equitable experience for all students at the Kimball Site.
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Promote and uphold the institution’s values, ensuring that organizational culture reflects respect, inclusivity, and shared responsibility.
Fiscal Stewardship
Oversee the budget and resources allocated for the Kimball Site, ensuring that funds are used effectively to support student services and academic programming.
Monitor expenditures related to student services, identify cost-saving measures, and ensure financial sustainability for site-specific initiatives.
Collaborate with college and community partners to secure additional resources and grants that support the mission of the Kimball Site.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, student services, or a related field.
Strong understanding of student services, including Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid, particularly in a community college or technical college setting.
Proven ability to manage programs, budgets, and collaborate across various departments.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at the Kimball Site and travel to other college locations as needed.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events, student support, or special programming.
